CAN THE SiQROCKER BE USED WITH HYBRID SNOWBOARDS?
A common question we get asked is, "will the SiQRocker work with my hybrid board?" The short answer is: it depends. Read on to find out if the SiQRocker will work with your snowboard profile.
In short:
- The SiQRocker was designed for use with snowboards that have camber between the bindings.
- The SiQRocker was not designed for use with snowboards that have rocker between the bindings.
Before we get to board profiles though, let’s quickly touch on installation.
The SiQRocker can be installed on any snowboard that uses the 4x4 or 2x4 binding bolt pattern. In other words, it can be installed on many of the boards out there but not on boards that use The Channel system… yet.
OK, now back to profiles.
The SiQRocker was designed for snowboards that have a camber or flat profile between the bindings. It works by pushing on the center of your board to reverse the camber. It can’t pull up on rocker to create camber.
Although you can install the SiQRocker on a snowboard that already has rocker between the bindings, it will not give you the intended benefits. The core concept of the SiQRocker is that it allows you to have true camber or true rocker in a single snowboard. If the SiQRocker is used with a board that already has rocker between the bindings, you will be able to add additional rocker but you won’t be able to create camber.
The SiQRocker is meant for profiles like these:
Camber
Flat
Hybrid Camber
The SiQRocker is not meant for profiles like these:
Rocker
Hybrid Rocker
